  • One class of up to 20 learners.
  • All 45 lessons and the 164-book library for one term if we met you at Bett Asia, as promised on stage — four weeks for every other school.
  • 100 HOPE minutes for the class, once, for the whole pilot — about one five-minute conversation for every learner. The packages below add minutes every month; the free class does not.
  • A weekly summary to the teacher, and a written summary at the end.
  • Classes start in November, on a date you choose with your teacher.

What the teacher gets

Three groups, dated honestly: what a class gets on day one, what arrives in December, and what is planned with no date yet.

In the pilot

  • One login per learner, issued within one working day of your yes.
  • A weekly summary by email: who joined, minutes spoken, books and lessons finished, and the reading level once a learner has taken the check.
  • Your institution keeps its data. No ads, no data resale.
  • A person to email: teacher@learnenglishabc.com.

Coming in December

  • A teacher dashboard: roster per class, minutes spoken, books finished, lessons completed, last active — and an export to a spreadsheet.
  • HOPE minutes pooled for the whole school, with a limit per learner if you want one.
  • Teacher-created logins for learners under 18, with no personal email.
  • Invoicing per term, with the membership shown on each learner's account as “member through your school”.

Planned

  • Single sign-on with Google Workspace for Education or Microsoft.
  • Moodle and other LMS integration; roster import.
  • Your logo and your default greeting language.
  • Your own reading list in the library, and a reading-level check for every learner.

How shared minutes work

For example, a school enrolling 20 learners in the $17.99 package pays $359.80 per month and receives 800 HOPE minutes per month to distribute among those learners. Each learner receives membership access; individual learners can use different amounts of HOPE time. The school may set a limit per learner. When the pool is empty HOPE pauses; lessons, books and Read & Listen carry on.

How much conversation practice does that provide?

If minutes are divided equally, the packages provide approximately:

  • 40 minutes: Two five-minute conversations a week — homework that talks back.
  • 20 minutes: One five-minute conversation a week.
  • 60 minutes: Three five-minute conversations a week.

These examples assume four weeks of practice per month.

A week with HOPE — the $17.99 package

Monday: the class reads the week's lesson. Tuesday evening, at home, each learner talks with HOPE for five minutes about it — she greets them in their own language, listens, and corrects as they speak. Thursday, a second five minutes: a book from the library, or the same lesson again. Friday morning the teacher's summary arrives: who talked, for how long, which books were finished. Forty minutes a month, two short conversations a week — homework that talks back.

Minimum enrollment and payment

Minimum 20 learners. Prices are in US dollars, quoted per learner per month and invoiced for the full term in advance. For example, 20 learners on the $17.99 package for a 3-month term would be invoiced $1,079.40 before the term begins. A four-month term is four monthly prices.

  • The membership alone is $3.99 per learner per month. Inside a package HOPE costs the school rate of $0.35 a minute; individual members pay $0.45.
  • Unused minutes carry over month to month while the package is active and expire when it ends. No refund for unused minutes.
  • Top-up: $175 for 500 shared HOPE minutes — the same $0.35 a minute — prepaid, without changing the package.
  • Bought on the website by invoice, never inside the app — and used on the website or in the app, as the learner prefers.
  • The free class is separate from these packages: its 100 HOPE minutes are given once, for the whole pilot, not per week or per month.
